Duffy Assembly

Today we had a Duffy book assembly. We had Niva Reimanu at the book assembly. She was our role model. Niva Reimanu is a  Samoan and her and her family lived in Invacago. Niva Reimanu came to New Zealand when she was 4 years old. She didn't know how to speak in English. So her dad took her to the library which was good. Now Niva Reimanu is a Samoan radio announcer and she had also told us that she has over 500 books in her house. Her motto is" Its cool to read it's cool to  achieve.  We will also like to thank the GE finance for getting the books.

Measurement Meters

Today I was playing the measurement game. It was challenging but then I played and played and got good at it. I got up to level 8 in this measuring game. I want to learn more about measuring. Next time I play this measuring game I want to get to a higher level.

Tall Blacks vs U.S.A

Last night the Tall Blacks played the U.S.A team. They lost against the U.S.A. Even though the you lost New Zealand we still enjoy watching you. In the next game you can all do better. I hope you win the next game with U.S.A.

3 Year old Little Girl

Today we had to find  the lowest common multiple of 3 and 4. We had to right down the 3 times and the 4 times table. Then circle the smallest number in the times table. I thought it was hard. But I had a little try and it was easy. I want to learn more about this. Also do ones that a bit harder.

How do you think NZ did well in the Commonwealth Games

I think New Zealand did very good at the Commonwealth Games. Because New Zealand is a very small country but they won 45 medals. England has 174 medals and they a on the top of the table. But when you rank the table you will see that New Zealand is on the top. Because of the population. New Zealand won the most medals in cycling.

     

word confusion

Work confusion is the that I played for grammar this week. It is a very good game to play. I played this in class and I thought to myself oh I have another go at this game because I need to get all of it right. When I first played it I thought it was hard but then I played this game over and over and thought to myself again on I  was wrong. I hope that I will never get another one wrong the next time I play it.

onemotion

This is one of the screenshots I took when we had to try out some programmes our teacher gave us. It was easy all you have to do is eat the mouse but you a not allowed to go back on you back because to you will lose. This is a very fun game to play and I will like to play it again.  

Spending splurge

I played this game with Megan and Serena. I have $ 1,750 to spend. I am going on holiday for 9 days. I had to buy the things I needed to go with me to  Australia and I bought me a Prepaid cellphone card a Sunblock and some earplugs. Also brought the return plane ticket for when I come back I had my passport and suitcase. I had $803 left so that means I can still buy me food.  

Jump rope for heart

This is my group and our skipping routine. I think we nailed it even though we didn't have to other two there but we still skipped without them. We raised $230 for the heart foundation.

Dental Presentation

Thank you so much for coming and for talking to Room 11 and Room 12 about they teeth. Also for telling us what alcohol and smoking does to our teeth. It was interesting and we got more information about the teeth. Also we will like to take you for making the presentation.My new learning is that it is not good to use a hard tooth brush because it rips you gums.  We now have more to put in when we right about teeth.

Buttons main idea

Buttons tell us stories.  Abby’s mum and aunty looked for buttons to sew on Abby’s dress gown. They found buttons from their old clothes that they didn’t need.

Punctuation Game

This is my grammar for this week. We had to look for the punctuation that belong to the sentences. Then we have to splat it in the little squares. I got some  of them wrong because I didn't put the right punctuation in the little squares. I would like to play this game again and get all of them right.   

Mouth guard

WALT: write a persuasive speech.

The Dental Association has found that one third of the dental injuries are sports related.  It’s good to wear a mouth guard when you play sports because It will cushion your  teeth . It also  protects jaw  joints in injuries.

That why we see rugby players wear mouth guards when the play. We also need mouth guards when we do boxing as well.  

These  are my two reasons why it is good to wear a mouth guard when playing  sports.  Although you won’t like it but it will help your teeth getting injured.

Mouth guards a very important so when you play rugby and other sports as well.  There a my two reasons why it is good to wear a mouth guard when playing  sports.

     This is my grammar for this week.  We had to find the verbs in the  sentences. Also we had to read the sentences and pick out one of the words they have gave us and put it in the sentences so it can make sentences. Some of it is easy some of it is hard but I tried my best to get all right. I will like to play this game again And make sure I get at least nine or ten right.

I have been learning to chose the word that has the same meaning to the highlighted word. The answer is spoke because it has the same meaning as talked. The first time I played, I got it wrong but then I got my others all correct. It was really easy and next I want to learn where you put the apostrophe.

Doubles

I am learning my doubles in this maths game. It was easy because it was small numbers like two and four .  I know my doubles up to 40 so I want to learn doubles that a higher than 40. I want  to improve my maths.

How to make a hamburger

Walt:write an explanation

Hamburgers are popular with many people.

First you have to get all the ingredients and then place it on a table because it’s much easier to grab close by. Then put the patty in the microwave. While that is cooking get the buns out place the bottom bun on the table the wait for the patty.Once the patty is ready get it out and the put it on the bun.

Next grab some lettuce and put it on top of the patty. Then  cut some tomatoes and put it on top of the lettuce. Then cook the eggs and then put it on top of the tomatoes.Then get the sauce and squeeze it around on of the eggs then get the bun for the top and put it on top of the eggs and sauce.

That is how to make a burger.
